Program Coordinator, HoopsHIGH
I was born and raised in the North Lawndale area until Junior High when my family and I moved to the Northwest suburbs. I'm a Chicago girl, with 16 years of broadcasting experience under my belt. At 9 years old, I watched a sitcom that changed my life: Murphy Brown, a show about a female journalist who was unafraid to ask tough questions and confronted the truth. I was hooked and it led to me attending Western Illinois University where I attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with an emphasis on Television Broadcasting and a minor in Political Science.
My favorite sport is baseball. I admire the prominent role it has played in social change in the United States; of course, my favorite team is the World Champion Chicago Cubs.
My main goal in my professional life is to showcase to the world that Chicago is an amazing place to live. I want to change the narrative of how outsiders see the city I love, especially the neighborhood I grew up in. I also hope to promote generational prosperity within my field by providing a new generation of media to reflect the diversity in the world we see.
