Ariel is an Aspiring Journalist and Film-maker and Community Activist from the westside of Chicago. After Witnessing gun violence and her neighborhood being gentrified, she moved away for a short time then soon decided to move back and put her energy towards shedding light on and helping North Lawndale by taking on roles with The North Lawndale Cultural Society and Sesquicentennial as head of the youth committee. Ariel uses her life experiences to gain perspective also as ammunition to channel into her work both as a Journalist and Film-maker to represent and tell the many narratives from the perspective of people who make up the community. Ariel is extremely passionate about aspiring positive change and restorative justice to her community and marginalized people as a whole from an empathetic place with the intention to heal and uplift.
