Teaching Artist, Orr Academy
Luke Sequeira is a mixed multi-media artist, dj and producer with a focus on experimental electronic music production, music curation and digital design. Currently Luke is a resident artist and curriculum designer for Project AIM located in Columbia College’s school of fine and performing arts. Prior to joining the Chance the Rapper Grant at Orr Academy through Spirit Media Luke served as a program coordinator and media mentor for the Adobe Foundation’s, Adobe Youth Voices program where he co-developed and implemented professional development modules for teachers with a focus on, digital design, video and software/hardware integration as an Adobe Certified Education Trainer. Concurrently Luke served as a digital atelieriesta for The Convergence Academies (Convergence Design Lab) co-developing digitally integrated curriculum for educators and designing the Atelier’s user interface and recording studio. Luke is also the creative director of The Elder Tree which is a collective of artists that works to empower the creative community through the reimagining of the way humans experience music, art, technology and community. The Elder Tree has programmed visual art and music at such festivals as West Fest in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village and the Living Gallery and Silent Disco at North Coast Music Festival. Currently Luke directs programming and is resident the DJ at 8A5E located in the Bridgeport Art Center.
