Tackling anti-blackness in the Chinatown community

Campaign looks for solutions to foster solidarity between Black people and Chinese people after the shooting

People Matter, a community-based organization, celebrated black heroes in the community and organized workshops to tackle anti-blackness in Chicago's Chinatown. They hope to Establish connections between community members and enhance mutual understanding.

“You're scared of us and we're scared of you. That's not a good community. We need to work together and build solidarity,” Consuela Hendricks, one of the co-founders of People Matter, said.
