International Women's Day is celebrated every year on March 8th; it is a global holiday that commemorates the cultural, political, and societal achievements of women. The first National Women’s Day was celebrated on February 28, 1909. It was appointed by the Socialist Party of America to honor women in the garment industry who were on strike in the state of New York protesting their working conditions.

The holiday has since had a generational impact on women of all ages and is celebrated in many ways. In the United States, women around the country host rallies, marches, and parties in celebration of the impact they and those before have had on the world.  The theme for this year’s celebration is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow. “The campaign ad was represented by the #BreakTheBias hashtag all over social media in hopes to encourage people to work towards an equal and inclusive world free of bias and discrimination.
