The following podcast reflects on my first experience in youth journalism working with the Chicago Tribune. I delve deep into how my original ambivalent feelings about journalism at the time were challenged and how it led to me growing not only as a writer but as a person as well. I thought it was important to share this story as I believe there are many students just like me who may be on the fence about journalism and any benefit it may have, but I learned sometimes you just have to give things a try even if you don't want to. Hopefully I can inspire more youth to try something they didn't think they'd have any interest in or be good at, enjoy!
