Youth Journalists Cover The Iowa Caucus
By FSM Communications
On a cold January weekend, seven student reporters from Free Spirit Media's journalism programs traveled to Iowa to cover the presidential campaign. The group worked alongside nearly 200 young people from Mikva Challenge to find out what issues young people in America care about and how youth can be politically engaged even before they are eligible to vote.
Youth reporters visited campaign offices and interviewed volunteers about key issues including racial justice, education, women's rights and immigration. FSM youth also covered a Hillary Clinton rally featuring Chelsea and Bill Clinton, where they joined the press corps in filming, liveTweeting and gathering reaction interviews from the crowd!
