Video Recap of our Annual Solutions for Chicago Sustainers Reception.

Free Spirit Media was excited to celebrate and grow our Founders Circle at this year's Solutions for Chicago: Diversity, Inclusion & the Creative Economy panel discussion at the Arts Club of Chicago on Tuesday, September 26. It was a powerful night, full of expansive conversations. What will it take to sustain and bring equity our creative economy? Here are some of your solutions:

1. Alliances: Through collaboration, we can shift the paradigm

"When you enter the gate, leave the gate open." - panelist Tracie Hall

Our Founders Circle is a robust network of generous individual supporters who are helping to make our civic journalism and creative workforce programming possible. We believe that it is our collective duty to use our knowledge and connections to increase the accessibility of our fields for marginalized groups.

2. Authenticity: Diverse representation requires diverse leadership

Our panelists drew on their field expertise and personal experiences to deliver a powerful conversation on the importance of bringing true equity in the structure and the narratives produced by our creative economy.
