InPathways - Our New Name

If you have been following The Chicago Track for a while, you may have noticed a change. Our old social media handle, @Chi_Track, is now @InPathways on Facebook, Instagram and TwitterThe Chicago Track, a workshop and networking event series, is only one of three programs in the Free Spirit Media Industry Pathways family of programs also including the Cohort Training Program and the Flash Forward Summer Internship Program

Within Free Spirit Media, we think of all of our programs as a pathway, whether the path is to self-expression, civic engagement, professional and personal growth, or all of the above. We call our creative workforce development programs Industry Pathways because our goal is just that - to give young adults in Chicago from traditionally marginalized communities and identities a pathway to gaining the knowledge, skills and relationships it takes to be a successful media professional.

The Chicago Track started in 2014 as a partnership between Free Spirit Media, Young Chicago Authors and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events with support from Chicago Community Trust. The Track was a city-wide creative industry pipeline for individuals ages 18-25 interested in careers in the film and music industries. Now, The Chicago Track is more geared toward the film industry. If you are a young adult who is interested in music and poetry programs, please check out organizations like Young Chicago Authors, Donda's House, Inc., Kuumba Lynx and others.

If you are ready to take your next steps into the exciting and competitive world of film, media and TV, continue to follow us at our new social media handle (@InPathways), share with other young adult artists who might be interested, and follow along on our website - freespiritmedia.org/inpathways.
