Traveling to India with Free Spirit PRO and the Peace Exchange

On December 26th, I embarked on a trip with a group of Peace Builders and a production crew to have an experience of a lifetime, and to work of course.

When I arrived in India after a long 16 & 1/2 hour flight I was ecstatic. Not only had I arrived safely in a foreign country, but I had arrived!

First, we went to New Delhi and met up with a group of students, between the ages of 18 and 20, that would accompany us for the duration of our stay in India. Then, we traveled to a farm where we stayed for three days and got to experience yoga outside and intimate conversations with our travelers and some of the people we met on the farm.

Second, we traveled to lively Jaipur, where we stayed in a Ahimsagram with a group of primarily young men who welcomed us with open arms, literally. During the 3 days in Jaipur we were able to understand more about Indian culture, buy some souvenirs, and camp outside for New Year's Eve.

Our third stop was making our way to beautiful Agra where we met some new friends that fed us some delicious Indian food, and went to visit the Taj Mahal. We were also able to see monkeys as we walked through a small neighborhood in the city. We also got to learn more about Indian culture and some of their traditions.

Lastly, we headed right back to New Delhi for the remainder of our trip where we stayed in a hostel. During this time we were able to go to the Ghandi Memorial Museum and get to know the students that had traveled with us more and say our goodbyes.

Being able to travel to India was definitely a highlight of 2017, and a beautiful start to 2018. I was able to meet some great people and visit some wonderful cities within India, all while doing something I love, which is filming. I was also able to learn more about Indian culture, and about myself. Gandhi said, "In a gentle way, you can shake the world", well India you've definitely shaken mine!
