FOCUS 2018 - Free Spirit Media's annual fundraiser was truly a night to remember. We'd like to thank all of our sponsors, our dedicated board, our brilliant staff, our wonderful volunteers, and our community of supporters for showing up, sharing our work, and investing in our vision.
With 300 attendees, 44 Host and Friend Committee members, and 39 sponsors, this year's FOCUS brought in over $100,000 for Free Spirit Media's media production, digital storytelling and community journalism programs. THANK YOU for being part of the#FSMfam.

Your support adds momentum to our movement of access and opportunity. This summer, Free Spirit Media will employ over 120 teens and young adults in seven innovative media production programs (from HoopsHIGH, to The Real Chi, to FSM News) and placements at 40 creative industry partner jobs.
Please help FSM engage with Chicago's creative youth from communities of color to transform media and society. This is a crucial time to change narratives and activate an inclusive economy!
"Fuzzy Legs" is about a timid young brown girl who begins middle school. She wants to go unnoticed, but with her hairy legs she stands out. When peers provoke and bully her, panic ensues as she questions beauty standards and what they mean to her.
